DemoANAF.ro is an independent reimagining of the ANAF portal — a demonstration of what digital tax services could look like and how they could work in Romania, for citizens at home and abroad.

Who builds DemoANAF.ro

A personal project by Daniel Tamas, a software engineer with over a decade of experience building digital products and a keen interest in Romanian public data. Professional profile and other projects: danieltamas.com. Direct contact: [email protected].

Data sources and updates

• ONRC (data.gov.ro) — ~4 million companies and ~3.5 million representatives. Re-synced periodically from official archives.
• ANAF — public APIs for CUI check, VAT status, e-Factura registration, balance sheet. Data fetched live, with short-term caching.
• BNR — the official XML exchange rate feed, updated daily at around 13:00.
• Monitorul Oficial — decisions and changes in company life, extracted with LLM assistance and verified.
• SEAP / e-Licitație — public procurement contracts (CC-BY-4.0).
• Treasury — IBANs extracted from the official PDFs of the Ministry of Finance.

Methodology

Data is normalised, full-text indexed and cross-referenced between sources. For every field displayed, the original source is tracked. We add no private data and create no new registries — we aggregate and present more accessibly what is already public.

Limitations and disclaimers

• DemoANAF.ro is not affiliated with ANAF. The official ANAF website is anaf.ro.
• Data is provided without warranty — for decisions with fiscal consequences, consult the primary source.
• Authenticated functions (SPV, e-Factura, e-Transport) are demonstration sections, not connected to ANAF servers.
